About Us

Rick Steiner Productions was founded by esteemed Broadway producer and entrepreneur, Rick Steiner. Rick was a five-time Tony Award-winning Broadway producer, whose hits included The Producers, Hairspray, and Jersey Boys. Heralding from a toy business family (Kenner Products), Rick recognized the importance of merchandising. Rick Steiner Productions was incorporated specifically to do in-theater and tour merchandising for Broadway musicals.  We began in 1987 with Into the Woods followed in 1989 with Secret Garden, then Smokey Joe’s Café, Hairspray and Little Shop of Horrors. Rick’s portfolio of musicals also include: Big River (1985), Into the Woods (1987), The Secret Garden (1991), Smokey Joe's Cafe (1995), The Producers (2001), Hairspray (2002), Jersey Boys (2005), The Times They Are a-Changin' (2006), The Wedding Singer (2006), and Honeymoon in Vegas (2015). Today, Jersey Boys is still on tour across the United States coming to a city near you!

Our in-theater merchandising is a specialized business where we have total “hands-on” involvement with our merchandising efforts.  As we operate essentially with no degree of separation, decision making is immediate, and we are able to respond quickly to the many requests that emanate from the producers’ office, road presenters, PR firms, group sales and theater store operators.
